Apparently, it's now mandatory to ask every working performer if they'd be interested in mentoring contestants on a TV singing competition.  Taste of Country threw that out to KENNY CHESNEY . . . and he politely explained why he is not interested.

--He said, quote, "Uh, no . . . not really.  I don't think I'd be too good at judging a talent contest or mentoring anyone.

--"I haven't watched a lot of those shows in the first place.  It's up to anybody to find their own path and realize their dream anyway they want to do it.  I'm not condoning it at all, but I don't see myself being a part of anything like that really."
