ACM Nominations - Kenny Chesney Leads
The numbers are in Kenny Chesney's favor. He has nine Academy of Country Music Nominations. Three of them are because of "You and Tequila" with Grace Potter. In a phone interview from Key West, Florida, where he was about to step on his boat for a few days of fishing and fun, Chesney says the success of "You and Tequila" is one of the highlights of his career. He says "that song's been around for a while." But he says "it just goes to show you a great song just has to some extent an infinite life and good songs never go out of style, and this one surely hasn't, thank God." Chesney, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and last year's winner Taylor Swift, all are up for entertainer of the year. The ACMs will be April 1 in Las Vegas.

ACM Nominations - Lady Antebellum
Lady Antebellum have won vocal group of the year from the Academy of Country Music twice in a row. They're going for their third this year. Hillary Scott, Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley also are up for album of the year for "Own the Night" as artist and producer. And they're nominated for both song and video of the year for "Just a Kiss." Kelley says the group sees the nominations as a sign of acceptance beyond the breakthrough success of "Need You Now." He says "it's nice to move past that and be given recognition for this new record and `Just a Kiss." Kelley was speaking from Tulsa, Oklahoma where they kick off their tour tonight.

`American Idol'-Houston Auditions
There's at least one real country girl with a golden ticket to Hollywood. Seventeen-year-old Skylar Laine from Brandon, Mississippi, makes to the next round on "American Idol." A segment about her on last night's show had her four-wheeling through a stream and posing with her deer rifle. She even bagged a trophy buck, which is hanging on her wall. Skylar is one of 55 people to get good news from the judges at the Houston-area auditions. So does Ramiro Garcia, who sang "Amazing Grace." He was born without ears, which were surgically rebuilt. His parents feared he would be deaf and mute.

Grammys - Glen Campbell, Blake Shelton, The Band Perry
Glen Campbell didn't get to perform at the CMAs but he'll get his chance at the Grammys. Sunday, February 12, Campbell will be part of a special performance with Blake Shelton and The Band Perry. It'll be part of the televised Grammy show. On February 11, the night before the Grammys, Campbell will get a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy. That event will not be on TV. Campbell announced last year he has Alzheimer's disease. He's been on a good-bye tour over the last few months.

Merle Haggard - Back Home
Merle Haggard is out of the hospital and back home in northern California. He's recuperating from several illnesses. Haggard was in the hospital in Macon, Georgia, for about a week with double pneumonia. While there, doctors discovered three stomach ulcers and eight polyps in his colon. At one point, Haggard checked himself out of the hospital to try to return to Redding, California, by tour bus. But a few hours later he checked himself back into the hospital after deciding the trip would be too much for him. Haggard is 74. A few years ago he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He recovered after part of his lung was removed. It's unclear how Haggard's current health issues will affect his touring schedule. His website shows his next concert is February 28 in Tucson, Arizona.

Top Concert Tours
Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" tour stays in third place on Pollstar's list of the top-20 concert tours of the last three months. That's even though Swift left the road in November. Zac Brown Band is in sixth and Lady Antebellum are in 12th place. Those are the only three country acts on Pollstar's top-20 this week. Cirque du Soleil -- "Michael Jackson: The Immortal" is the number-one act on the all-genre list.

Billboard Charts
It's sort of musical chairs on Billboard's musical charts this week. Last week's number-two is now number-one on the country songs chart. It's Luke Bryan singing "I Don't Want This Night to End." Last week's number-three is now number-two. It's "You" from Chris Young. And, last week's number-one drops to number-three. It's Eric Church with a "Drink in My Hand." "Clancy's Tavern" from Toby Keith now is number-one on Billboard's country albums chart. "Own the Night" from Lady Antebellum is in second. And Luke Bryan's "Tailgates and Tanlines" is in third.
