Patsy Cline Exhibit To Open At Country Music Hall Of Fame And Museum
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is paying tribute to one of country music's legends with its new exhibit "Patsy Cline: Crazy for Loving You." The biographical exhibit includes hand-written letters, costumes, personal possessions, vintage photographs, audio and video recordings and also features a new film on Cline's life and legacy. The exhibit kicks off its ten-month run on August 24th.
Kelly Clarkson To Perform At Fort Campbell
Kelly Clarkson will be performing at a free concert during this year's Week of the Eagles. The annual event takes place at Fort Campbell on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line and celebrates the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne Division. This year's event commemorates the division's 70th anniversary. Clarkson is currently on tour in support of her fifth album, "Stronger." She'll be at Fort Campbell on August 13th.
New Album By The The Mavericks Set For September Release
It's been about nine years since the members of The Mavericks went their separate ways. Now, the band is set to release "In Time." The comeback album marks the band's recent reunion and their move to a new label. Lead singer Raul Malo calls the record a testament to "faith, fate, and chance" and says it's the record the band is the "most proud of." It's set for release on September 25th.
Alan Jackson Wants To Make A Bluegrass Album
Alan Jackson says when it comes to music, there's at least one more thing he'd like to do. He told The Boot that he wants to make a bluegrass album. He tried once before he says with Alison Krauss, but the album — "Like Red On a Rose" — turned out "a long way from bluegrass" by the time they finished it. He says he still wants to do a "pure bluegrass album."
Wade Hayes Opens Up About His Battle With Cancer
He shouldn't even be here. That's what Wade Hayes tells Country Weekly magazine after his recent battle with stage-four colon cancer. After chemotherapy and surgery that caused near fatal internal bleeding, Hayes says he is now cancer free and making "the best of it." He's back in the studio working on a new album that will feature the song "Is It Already Time?" Hayes describes the song as "heavy" and says every word of the song which was inspired by his illness is true. He's also working to promote cancer awareness. He let his symptoms go and says he now knows that talking about them with a doctor early on would have been a lot easier than going through treatment for the advanced disease.
Kristin Chenoweth Still Recovering
Kristin Chenoweth says she's "doin' better everyday." The good news comes via Twitter. Chenoweth was injured on the set of "The Good Wife" a little over two weeks ago when a piece of lighting equipment fell and hit her. She tweeted on Wednesday that it was a "big doctor day." On Tuesday she sent a message thanking her fans for their support and love and said "more to come" when "she's able."
